Purcell Constructions
Description / Modern Architect Designed Contemporary Residence

This stunning project was built as the personal residence of a registered commercial builder from Melbourne, who had been in the building industry for 40 years.  He naturally had very exacting ideas about the build, and colaborated with an architect to come up with an impressive ultra-modern design with nothing overlooked.  The house was built using 12 different floor levels, which made the concrete slab one of the most challenging parts of the build.  The ultra-modern fittings and fixtures were imported from all over the world, amalgramating the best of everything to create this spectacular home.  Each bedroom has its own gorgeous views framed by the huge windows, while the bathrooms were carefully designed so as to use only whole tiles, producing a seamless finish highlighting the luxury German fittings.

The house sits nestled into a hillside, clad with rusted metal panels and greyed-off ironbark which lends itself to the rustic bush-colour palette.  The huge north-facing glass walls slide open onto the beautiful ironbark sun deck, in-ground pool and spa.  The northern aspect from the living / kitchen area overooks the pool area and further takes in the park-like gardens and glorious Delatite River valley and surrounding mountain views.  There are gorgeous outside nooks and spaces including a large courtyard on the south side of the house featuring a huge oak tree framed by large bluestone blocks, and a poolside fireplace sheltered in on the north side.  This house was designed and constructed to the highest standards, and the finished result is truly a stunning project we are proud to have built.
